A field almanac for the clues that lead to discovery.

Genuine Discovery

About

Genuine Discovery is an English-language publication about the questions hidden in plain sight. It is for curious general readers who enjoy looking closely, following a line of inquiry and learning without needing specialist equipment or expertise.

What we explore

Our subjects begin with things people can notice in ordinary surroundings: a pattern in nature, a mark on an object, a familiar custom or a curious detail in a place. We explain what can be observed, what it may suggest and where the limits of a conclusion lie.

How we approach a question

We favour clear language, useful context and distinctions between what is visible, what is inferred and what remains uncertain. Articles are planned as self-contained explorations; they do not ask readers to treat a hunch as proof or to attempt risky investigations.

Who it is for

Readers do not need a particular background to follow along. Each piece aims to give enough context to make its subject understandable, while leaving space for readers to keep noticing and asking questions of their own.
