A field almanac for the clues that lead to discovery.

Genuine Discovery

Editorial policy

Genuine Discovery aims to make curiosity more careful, not more certain than the evidence allows. We explain our approach to accuracy, independence, corrections and clearly labelled commercial work.

Accuracy and clarity

We aim to check factual statements against suitable, accessible sources and to make the reasoning in an article understandable. We distinguish direct observations from interpretations, avoid presenting speculation as fact and revise wording when it overstates what is known.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for relevance to readers and fit with the publication. Commercial relationships do not determine our conclusions, and we do not promise favourable coverage in exchange for payment or a partnership.

Corrections

If you believe a passage is inaccurate or unclear, contact us with the article title and the specific point. We review correction requests and, when a change is warranted, amend the text and make the correction clear to readers.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, sponsored or partner material is identified clearly as such and kept distinct from editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence; where that applies, the illustration is labelled. Illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence.
