Write for us
We welcome pitches that begin with a precise question and make a general reader want to look again at something familiar. Proposals should fit Genuine Discovery and be possible to explain carefully without professional advice or risky instructions.
What makes a good pitch
Send a short outline of the subject, the central question, the reader it serves and what the piece will help that reader notice or understand. Tell us how your approach differs from a broad overview, and note any uncertainty or limitations that matter to the subject.
The work we welcome
We are interested in clear explainers, comparisons, pieces of background, thoughtful examinations of common assumptions and gentle observation-led guides. Pitches should be original, specific and suitable for readers without specialist knowledge.
What to leave out
We do not seek material that depends on invented evidence, unsupported claims, confidential information or professional, financial, legal or medical advice. Do not send a complete article unless requested.
Where to send a proposal
Send your proposal through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a concise outline and a short note about your proposed angle; there is no need to include personal details beyond those needed to reply.
